Physiotherapy

IMG_3760

Physiotherapists are independent practitioners who can assess, diagnose and treat patients in all age groups with many different illnesses, injuries and conditions. The Physiotherapy service spans the hospital and community setting. A full breakdown of the full service is available here.

Physiotherapists have expertise and skills in pain relief, movement and exercises in order to treat and rehabilitate patients. Physiotherapy is provided on the intensive care unit and the surgical wards 7 days a week and an on-call service is provided for the treatment of respiratory problems which may occur outside the normal working day. The physiotherapy team will liaise with community and outpatient services to continue follow on physiotherapy, as required, when patients are discharged from hospital.

For more information on physiotherapy interventions and downloadable leaflets please see our physiotherapy section.
